Preservation Planning Fund
Grant applications must be postmarked by September 1, 1999.
The Save America’s Treasures Preservation Planning Fund will provide $1,000,000 in grants toward planning the conservation and preservation of historic sites, buildings and districts in the United States.

The J. Paul Getty Trust established the Planning Fund with a major grant to the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Save America’s Treasures Program to help ensure that historic sites, buildings and districts throughout the nation will remain part of America’s heritage as we enter the new millennium.

In the year 2000 the National Trust for Historic Preservation will award matching grants from the Planning Fund. The grants will go to non-profit organizations and local, state and tribal government agencies to assist them in obtaining the expertise needed to appropriately plan for conservation, rehabilitation, and ongoing care related to Save America's Treasures Official Projects.

Grants from the Planning Fund will range from $10,000 to $50,000. All grants must be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis by the grant recipients. In-kind contributions of services cannot be used as matching funds. Any documents or plans for preservation work that result from funded activities must conform to The Secretary of Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.
